Nadine White
Featured on the Forbes 30 under 30 and UK’s first Race Correspondent, White is paving the way for many aspiring black journalists. Currently working for The Independent, she writes about racial topics and colourism in the UK and is also a resident news writer for Huffington Post.
White has achieved quite a lot in her young career.
Growing up in Brixton with a Jamaican background, there weren’t many black journalists to inspire her, so she set out to make her writing dream a reality.
Winner of the ‘Best Journalist’ award at BLAC (Bright Lights Awards Ceremony) she is a recognised successful writer who continues to shine a light on Black human interest stories.

Claudia Efemini
This young British-Nigerian journalist is presently reading a Politics and History MA at the University of Edinburgh while firmly putting her foot in the journalism door.
Efemini works as an editor at The Meridian Magazine and writes for the publications IBlieve and Dreamando. Her pieces are based on shared student experiences at her university as well as racial issues in the UK and African trending news.
When not studying, she hosts a podcast show for a non-profit organisation called We Write; International Girl Rights to Educate. In keeping with this, she also advocates for young girls having full access to education. Definitely one to watch.

Dahaba Ali Hussen
Ali Hussen is a History postgraduate of Cambridge University. She has recently started working for Sky News as their first female Somalian reporter, a huge accomplishment for one so young.
She writes on Political and Social Affairs, having previously worked in the Financial Times and Al Jazeera and campaigns for the grassroots organisation called The3million, acquiring quite an impressive resume. In her spare time, she is training for an upcoming London marathon.
According to her mother, at the age of 12, having recently arrived in the UK from Somalia, she announced that she wanted to study at the University of Cambridge. Dahaba has been quoted as saying, she has always loved radio/audio because it’s so beautifully intricate and intimate.
In her recent YouTube video, she talks to university students on how to build contacts and make it as a freelance journalist.
