Immersive platforms continue: What is Netflix Hub?

On November the 23rd, Netflix had partnered with the music giant Spotify to create Netflix Hub. The service provides immersive audio experiences of collective playlists/podcasts and soundtracks etc to dedicated Netflix shows. With the rise of viral Netflix shows, fanbases have expanded globally and in dedication to each show. Fans can come together to view soundtracks from their favourite film/tv series. It will also include many popular podcasts as this type of audio format grows in popularity.

The pandemic has massively increased Spotify users numbers due to members of the public staying at home and binge-watching and listening to music. So this new project is brilliant in bringing the two powerhouse brands together.

Netflix vs Spotify

Netflix has over 200 million subscribers and Spotify with a hefty 144 million subscribers. With such a big audience the success of this project is going through the roof. The trend of collaborating is rising especially with the new Spotify feature, Blended, which allows users to make mixed playlists with each other and share these and compare songs. The future of interactive and immersive ideas is unknown but with the rate it’s going, I’m sure Netflix and Spotify have more in the pipeline.
