Instagram is rolling out the latest in a series of changes to its Stories feature – 60-second Stories.
With the new update, Stories will no longer be broken up into segments after 15 seconds. Instead, they will be able to run uninterrupted for up to one whole minute.
Instagram began trialling the new feature last month. In recent days, however, the platform began to ‘live test’ it with a number of users.

The new feature is slowly being introduced more widely, though is not yet available for all users.
On the development, Instagram told Social Media Today: “The ability to create longer Stories posts comes highly requested by our community. We’re excited to be testing 60-second Stories so that people can create and view Stories with fewer interruptions.”
It is yet to be announced when the 60-second Story feature will be available to all on Instagram.
However, this update follows two new additions to Instagram Stories which have recently been made available to all users:
Link Stickers
Last month, the ‘swipe-up’ link feature was replaced by a ‘Link’ sticker. The previous ‘swipe up’ feature was historically limited to accounts with over 10,000 followers but is now available to anyone.

“Add yours” Stickers
Additionally, the platform has created the “Add yours” sticker for its Stories. This new interactive sticker allows users to create a prompt or a discussion on a certain topic, and add it to their Story.
Other users can then respond, add their own IG Story to the discussion and see responses from other profiles.
