YouTube has unveiled a set of AI-powered tools for video creators and a new mobile application for video editing called “YouTube Create.” Here’s a quick look at what the app offers.
YouTube Create, a video editing application, was launched by YouTube at its annual Made on YouTube event on September 22, 2023. The event features latest ways YouTube supports and spotlights creators. The app offers easy-to-use tools to create Shorts and long format videos through various editing techniques.
What are the features of YouTube Create?
Like every other online video editing application, YouTube Create offers standard functionalities such as trimming, clipping, and cropping videos, along with the capability to adjust playback speed, either speeding up or slowing down the content. Other fundamental features include – fine-tune saturation, brightness, filters and effects.
The most unique feature of YouTube Create is that it boasts of a collection of 40 transitions for fine blending between visuals. There is also a vast array of emojis, stickers and GIFs complemented by hundreds of fonts and animated text effects that are available within the app.
In terms of audio, YouTube create allows you to record your voiceover directly into the app and choose from more than thousands of royalty-free music tracks to match your video clip. It can also automatically add subtitles on one click.
Once the video is ready, the file can be exported in various dimensions including – portrait, landscape, square. YouTube said: “This enables seamless sharing across different social media platforms besides the option to directly upload on YouTube.”
What other AI tools have been announced by YouTube?
During the event, YouTube also unveiled a range of AI tools to create content in newer ways. YouTube said: “The aim was to reduce time-consuming and expensive tasks and allow creators to reach more viewers.”
These include:
- Dream Screen: Allows user to add AI-generated image or video backgrounds into YouTube Shorts
- AI Insights: Suggests video ideas based on what your audience is already watching
- Aloud: An experimental automatic dubbing tool to easily create content in more languages
- Assistive Search in Creator Music: Suggests a suitable soundtrack for your video with an AI-assisted search tool
However, these features are yet to be integrated into the app and YouTube said that it will be made available for creators at the end of 2023.
