Meet the experts on this year’s Interhacktives podcast
We reached out to AI experts and journalists to help us understand how AI can be useful to journalists, and what the possible threats might be.
On the first episode, you will hear from Mattia Peretti, manager and team lead Journalism AI at LSE, and Marcela Kunova, editor at Journalism.co.uk. They explained how newsrooms have been collaborating for years to ensure the ethical and efficient use of artificial intelligence, and taking storytelling to another level.
Our second episode on modular journalism explores how Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Information Extractions (IE) can modularise content as reusable elements to use for different storytelling formats and for meeting users’ needs. We talked to Anna Vissens, lead data scientist at The Guardian, and Ines Montani, founder and CEO of Explosion AI.
For our final episode, we invited Joseph Hook, editor of Radar AI, and his colleague Sonja Tutty. They talked to us about the use of AI tools for local news reporting. Their team is helped by an AI to go over massive spreadsheets, that local reporters may have no time or resources to go through.
