Blackberry owner RIM has finally apologised for almost a week of network outages by offering their customers a handful of free games.
The applications, which include Texas hold ’em Poker and the Sims are now available to download free of charge until the end of 2011.
The announcement was accompanied online by a statement from RIM co-CEO Mike Lazaridis thanking “loyal BlackBerry customers for their patience.” Â
“We have apologized to our customers and we will work tirelessly to restore their confidence. We are taking immediate and aggressive steps to help prevent something like this from happening again.”
Business customers have already reacted angrily to the news, pointing out that free games don’t  make up for the days that they were left completely without internet.
Twitter user Jim Nasium summed up the general mood when he said he’d rather have “a gift card for a new iPhone.”
